It looks exactly the same, except another pound of it is grey dust on the floor.
This is time consuming. I’ve been told my personal aroma is “that old car smell” which is one of the nicest things you can say to an old car guy. Right now I smell Like “old car on fire”.
the only remaining original piece of car south of the doors was (surprise) also rotten. so getting ready to sizzle in a chunk o’plymouth since I’ve got one.
I’ve also got this piece but I think I’ll po u nd it flat and make a new one and weld it to this.
the curve is a best guess.
wanna see more rust? Then why are you here? here’s a little guy in the trunk jamb from last go-round.
highest rust hole (so far) top of the cowl, level with the glass. Yes rusted up to the cr aplousy wind shield.
A trunk full of failed e xperiments. Also some E-brake cable brackets to weld to bottom of car in there. but mostly failure and rust.

With the am ount of rust, or the degree of automotive freehand- not- measuring- twice sin? I never had a shop teacher to straighten me out. I went to a fancy-pants suit and tie school for future bankers, had to join various clubs to use the shops as they weren’t offered as classes. stage construction etc.

I enjoy these updates. I’ve been following along for a bit now and I’m starting to wonder if you are adding metal at a rate that is greater than that with which metal is turning to dust?

No I didn’t become a banker, More like one of those guys who has a Chevelle but not a checking account. My parents were boomers but I ended up the hippie. Born 1978 makes me an “oregon trailer”. I do love boomer music and cars though.

Once the joke coalesced it had to be told.
This project continues to amaze. The fact you are fixing it is parts hilarity and wonderment.

I enjoy a challenge, but this is just stupid. I want it to be someone else’s problem.

With the amount of rust. You will receive zero criticism from me. You’re conjuring a car from nothingness! I realize it’s butchery, but I am nonetheless impressed.

Some of the stupidest projects end up being the most memorable and cherished.
